Front desk was very helpful and patient with all of our questions regarding finding the right tour to a great restaurant near the b&B.
The staff is friendly and the service is ewxcellent
The front desk was always courteous and responsive.
I very much liked the arrangements for breakfast
Clean and simple, good friendly staff. Good value.
Not enough room for all guests to eat breakfast. Breakfast was also quite poor.
It's new, very clean
The lady of front desk is cold, not welcome at all. I booked the one-night room from Booked.net with adding one more bed to my standard room. Booked.net said the hotel will charge me $99.00 instead of $84.00 before tax, and I agreed. However, the lady of front desk said the price is $119.00 when I check in, and she is very cold and no negotiation. I feel like I have to stay without any choices, since it was late on that day. However, the guy of front desk next morning when I checked out, is nice. Everything is perfect, except the lady with bad attitude, whom almost ruin my stay on that day. I really don't like her. And I suggest Windsor shouldn't let her work there. She will give guest really bad experience and ruin the reputation of the hotel.
The dank, basement (so-called) garden level room I was placed in. The rude clerk who told me that helping with luggage was not a service they provided. The ratty carpet and other outdated fixtures, accessories, etc.
I stayed in a "garden" room .. in the basement ..no window.....no lock on door, noisy I woke at 1.30 am with swollebn eyes and wheezing ..something allergenic in room ..cats wandering about the hotel . ....ridiculously expensive for a very inferior hotel . The web site says it is withiong waliking distance of Convention Center ,......this is absolutley untrue ..unless one has about an hour ro spare. I am writing to the organization to remove this hotel from the listing of available hotels...Third Rate and expensive as well
Classic older style guest house/small hotel with lots of character. Nice traditional-style room decoration. Moderate price for dc. Great location near restaurants and shopping. Within walking distance of the White House and National Mall. Friendly, helpful front desk staff.
Needs a few minor touches to be a much better experience. Because it is a classic or historic building, the windows are single glazed which means you get some street noise. The continental breakfast is a little skimpy. Bathrooms need hooks for used/wet towels.
I liked the price and the fact that it was so close to the White House.
Really good location for the price, you can walk to the National Mall for sightseeing and to the Dupont Circle or U St. for dining. The hotel has a touch of vintage indeed (though sometimes this just means "old"). Everything is just ok.
No parking. You can park on one side of the street from 6:30 pm to 9 am, if you find a space, but during the daytime you are limited to 2 hours. You can use a couple of garages for about $20 overnight, which are a 10-minute walk away. Also it was a bit noisy in our room, which was too close to the lobby.
1. One of the front desk clerks was particularly friendly and helpful 2. Excellent local restaurant recommendation 3. Free computer and internet access 4. Free printed copy of airline boarding pass 5. Decent continental breakfast 6. Non-smoking 7. Reasonably close to Metro and Dupont Circle 8. Reasonably clean and comfortable 9. Quiet
The room (413), and the place in general, badly in need of renovation
Not very close to city center but was ok. Gave a traditional uk look.
There are a lot 1. Male staff while calling to check details in the night to be specific on 19th night was very very rude, very disrespectful, arrogant , no discipline, no politeness/gentleness, etc. etc. all negative points only 2. Only 1 channel that too it was a news channel was available, shud be atleast few more 3. Breakfast some hot items could be added 4. Hair drier not working 5. Few lights not working 6. Hot water Tap in bathroom was mesleading Many more defects.. Should improve a lot.
The Windsor was my best hotel experience. It was affordable, beautiful, relaxing, and located in a not-so-congested part of D.C. Breakfast was served every morning and the food was fresh and delicious. Water, coffee, and tea were also served in the lobby at all hours. The staff was incredibly nice and polite. I even asked to transfer to an upper level room (just because I like the view from above) and they found me one without question. The room was also spotless. Every time I returned to my room in the evening, I found it clean. I have been to a lot of hotels in my life. The Windsor was, without a doubt, a comfortable and caring environment. I recommend it to anyone who wants to stay in D.C. for a few days.
